Why are internal audits important in IATF 16949?
It is not easy to do internal audits, and doing good internal audits is an art. The automotive industry has experienced this and therefore the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) has tightened the requirements of the new vehicle standard IATF 16949: 2016. Sections 7.2.3 and 7.2.4 set new requirements for (formal) competence and 9.2 increased requirements for planning and conducting internal audits, including product audits and supplier assessments. Since the new requirements are based on PDCA thinking according to the principles of ISO 9001, we have chosen to emphasize the requirements of sections 5, 9 and 10.
Who benefits from this?
What
That’s why we’ve developed this three-day training where we follow the new requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 and what these requirements mean when conducting different types of audits. To get a holistic vision, we also go through what ISO 19011 means, which is one of the new requirements of 7.2.3. The course material is based on materials developed by VDA QMC in Germany.
