TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH of VDA VOLUME 2018
Customer-specific requirements in addition to general requirements for quality management systems have been in place since the first edition of the common requirements of the automotive industry ISO/TS 16949:1998. The importance of understanding and introducing customers’ specific requirements and adapting them to an existing management system has subsequently increased in line with the development of ‘16949’. The book is 52 pages with the following content.
- Purpose and objective
- Definitions
- Create customer-specific requirements
- Customer-specific requirements based on the default structure in IATF.
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH of VDA VOLUME 2018
The rapid development of the automotive industry, mainly in connection with electrification and digitisation, in parallel with increasingly complex products, has meant increased demands on the scope and depth of documentation. Information and documentation and their preservation, which is within the framework of the above challenges, should therefore be viewed and regulated in an integrated manner. Since this is the responsibility of each company, this book describes the use of information and documentation within the life cycle of the product. The book is 41 pages with the following content.
- Introduction
- Purpose
- Terms and definitions
- Systems for information
- Management of information
- Requirements for conservation
- Development of classification structure

VDA Vol 2
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH of VDA VOLUME 2020
In the automotive industry, closer cooperation in the supply chain is crucial due to shorter development times, higher product variability, increasing complexity and more intensive customer-organisation coordination. This is achieved through standardized control management along the entire supply chain within the framework of the production process and product (PPF) documented procedure to a flawless supply
- In agreed quality
- On time schedule
- In number of details
By implementing a standardised manufacturing procedure and product transition in the supply chain, friction losses in the interfaces between suppliers and customers through a partnership of different cooperation should be minimised

SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS S C
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH of VDA VOLUME 2020
This VDA publication serves as a starting point for determining, specifying, tracking, documenting, and archiving special properties. Throughout the supply chain, specific characteristics – agreed between customer and supplier and – must be identified within an organization. This publication is a recommendation for the practical use of significant and critical characteristics, while complying with the framework conditions set out in standards and legislation
The objective of this process description is to describe an interdisciplinary approach, to:
a) identify specific characteristics
b) to classify special characteristics
c) to document special characteristics, and
d) to establish protective measures (quality control loops) throughout the value stream, to ensure effective and efficient production control

"LESSONS LEARNED"
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH of VDA VOLUME 2020
Prior to this VDA volume, no uniform definitions of terms relating to the issue of ‘Lessons learned’ in the automotive industry have been published. The term “Lessons Learned” is used in several requirements standards (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, etc.), without being explained in more detail.
The LL method gives the company an opportunity to consciously draw on past experience. From a long-term perspective, an organisation’s ability to learn faster than its competitors is a crucial competitive advantage.

VDA 5 - Capability of measurements
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH FROM VDA VOLUME 2021
After more than a decade, it is time for a fundamental review of one of the standards of capability for the inspection process. The focus in establishing this 3rd edition of VDA 5, with its new title “Capability for Measurement and Control Processes, Planning and Control”, has been on understanding methodology to achieve better practical application for the user.
Inspection processing capacity is more than just acceptance of the test equipment, it also includes handling measurement uncertainty in product and manufacturing design. A comprehensive measurement result consists of a certain measured value and a measurement uncertainty in the measurement process. In the area of tolerance, it is not a reliable statement that the tolerances are in conformity or do not comply with the tolerances due to the uncertainty of measurement. This can lead to incorrect evaluations of measurement results.

MATURITY LEVEL ASSURANCE
TRANSLATION TO SWEDISH FROM VDA VOLUME 2021
Ensuring maturity is a control method within project management initiated by OEM or by customer. By applying specified rules, such as “round table discussion”, where the supplier of products and the customer’s internal organization works together at an early stage of the product development process. Unnecessary extra work can be avoided when the elements in ensuring maturity are constantly consciously integrated at an early stage in the project management
Companies applying “Maturity” will be able to identify products where the degree of maturity is critical and determine the status of the products at specific project milestones in the product development process in a cross-functional manner, using standardised maturation rates.
